Our home town, it's a bit 'off the beaten track' but still perfectly tourist friendly. That's a winning combo for us, we love it and are sure you will too! 

At the heart lies the Piazza del Borgo, a charming square that serves as the focal point of local life. Surrounded by historic buildings, it is here that you'll find the Church of San Giuseppe, a centuries-old marvel with its Baroque façade and exquisite frescoes. The piazza itself is a hub of activity, with lively cafes and trattorias offering a taste of Puglian gastronomy.

For a deeper dive into Cisterino's history, venture towards the Castle of Cisterino. This medieval fortress, perched atop a hill, provides panoramic views of the surrounding olive groves and vineyards. The castle's imposing presence harks back to a time when it stood as a guardian of the village, and today, it stands as a testament to Cisterino's storied past.

Stroll along Via Antica, a quaint street that meanders through the village, lined with traditional limestone houses adorned with colorful shutters. The Church of Santa Maria, with its intricate architecture and serene atmosphere, is another must-visit landmark that reflects the religious heritage of the town.

Ostuni

the dazzling "White City" or La Città Bianca, perched atop a hill in the heart of Puglia. Renowned for its striking whitewashed buildings that glisten in the Mediterranean sun, Ostuni is a popular town for local's and tourists alike, and on first glance of it, as you drive up the country roads towards this city, it's really not hard to see why. 

Ostuni is full of beautiful historic and very significant landmarks; 

1. Ostuni Cathedral (Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta): A symbol of Ostuni's architectural grandeur, this cathedral stands majestically in the historic center. Its intricate facade and stunning rose window are a testament to the city's rich medieval heritage.
2. Arco Scoppa (Scoppa Arch): This iconic arch, dating back to the 16th century, serves as a gateway to Ostuni's historical district. Pass through its ancient stone archway and embark on a journey through narrow alleys adorned with vibrant bougainvillea.
3. Piazza della Libertà: The central square of Ostuni, surrounded by charming cafes and shops. The square comes alive in the evenings, offering a lively atmosphere where locals and visitors gather to enjoy the enchanting surroundings.
4. Palazzo Episcopale: Explore the Episcopal Palace, an architectural gem showcasing the blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles. Its elegant facade and well-preserved interiors offer a glimpse into Ostuni's aristocratic past.

Alberobello

the enchanting town of Alberobello; a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its unique trulli houses. As you wander through its winding streets, you'll be transported to a fairytale-like setting, where whitewashed limestone buildings with conical roofs dot the landscape, creating a scene straight out of a storybook.

Alberobello's most iconic feature is undoubtedly its trulli, traditional Apulian dry stone huts with distinctive cone-shaped roofs. These historic dwellings, dating back to the 14th century, are not only charming to behold but also serve as a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage. Take a stroll through the Rione Monti district, where you'll find the highest concentration of trulli, each adorned with intricate symbols and designs. Don't miss the Trullo Sovrano, a two-story trullo house offering a glimpse into the past.

Ascend to Belvedere Santa Lucia for panoramic views of Alberobello's rooftops against the backdrop of rolling hills. Visit the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua for its Baroque architecture and ornate interior.

Polignano a Mare

Perched on the rugged cliffs overlooking the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea, Polignano a Mare is simply stunning. This iconic spot is perhaps best known for its famous beach nestled within a natural cove, where crystalline waters lap against dramatic limestone cliffs. But it doesn't just look good! Dive into the refreshing waters for a swim or simply bask in the Mediterranean sun while soaking in the breath-taking scenery. For those seeking adventure, the town offers opportunities for cliff diving, providing an exhilarating way to experience its coastal beauty (this isn't for me, but each to their own!).

Among the town's landmarks is the famous Lama Monachile Beach, with its iconic bridge offering picturesque views of the coastline. Explore the historic center to discover hidden gems like the Church of San Vito Martire, a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture dating back to the 12th century. As evening falls, dine at one of the seaside restaurants perched on the cliffs, where you can savor fresh seafood while watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. If you like taking travel pics, you're going to love Polignano!

Monopoli

Nestled along the Adriatic coast of Puglia, Italy, Monopoli exudes the quintessential charm of a seaside Italian town. It's our personal favourite town to visit near us and so besides the obvious desitinations here, Monopoli is our 'not to be missed'. 

Its historic center is a labyrinth of narrow alleyways and whitewashed buildings adorned with vibrant flowers, offering a glimpse into its rich maritime past. Stroll along the picturesque harbor, where fishing boats bob gently in the azure waters, and you'll be transported to a bygone era of seafaring adventures.

Monopoli boasts a wealth of landmarks that showcase its storied history and architectural heritage. One such landmark is the imposing Monopoli Cathedral, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Its striking facade and ornate interior, adorned with Baroque embellishments and frescoes, are a testament to the town's religious significance. Wander through the cobbled streets to discover hidden treasures like the Castle of Charles V, a fortress built in the 16th century to defend against pirate attacks, offering panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea from its ramparts.

For a taste of local culture, visit the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the bustling heart of Monopoli, where you can sip espresso at a sidewalk cafe and watch the world go by.
